The Labor Court in Berlin explained that after their legal dispute, a Muslim veiled teacher and the state of the city concluded to a settlement, noting that the state has committed itself to pay financial compensation to the teacher. In a related context, the Court announced that it was expected to hold an oral meeting with another teacher in a similar incident.

During the job interview in the school, there were signs preventing teachers to wear headscarves for religious reasons inside the school, according to a law in the state.

In early February, the Labor Court had awarded a financial compensation of 8680 euros to a Muslim female teacher rejected because of the headscarf, which she considered as discrimination against her.
